How to Advance to the Next Rank:

Advancement Process:

​

1) Scout completes requirements (mostly applies to tenderfoot through first class).

2) Scout Handbook/ Scout-book (online) is signed off.

- This is done by a registered Scoutmaster, Assistant scoutmaster, or Committee Chair.

3) Advancement Chair notifies the Scoutmaster of all scouts that are ready for conferences.

4) The scout should contact the Scoutmaster and arrange a Scoutmaster Conference.

- Scoutmaster generally has conferences before each meeting at 6:30.

- The Scoutmaster verifies dates and signatures

- The scoutmaster signs scout spirit during the scoutmaster conference.

- Will not have conferences when we meet at other than Chatham Baptist Church, unless pre-arranged.

5) After the scoutmaster conference is completed, the scout presents the book to the Advancement Chair or Scoutmaster to schedule a board of review.

6) The Advancement Chair or Scoutmaster will contact the Troop Committee Chair to set up the Board of Review.

7) The scout arrives at the board of review with their signed book and completes Board of Review.

8) Scout is recognized at the next court of honor.
